Health Institute (HI) Gyula
Mód.: 2005-02-25

On the town municipality's initiative, the nurse training at college level was started in Gyula by the Debrecen University of Medicine on September 1st, 1993.
From the academic year 1933/94, besides the already existing nurse training in Budapest, the Universities of Medicine in Szeged and Pécs could also start their training courses. In the above-mentioned places training is carried out according to the European standards.
The training was started in a new building with 8 classrooms in the Szent István Street in 1993, which has been given free by the municipality for college training purpose. Theoretical and partly practical training is carried out in this building.
The on-site clinical practical training is based in the well-equipped Pándy Kálmán County Hospital providing up-to-date practising opportunities. The hospital.s specialists (physicians, qualified nurses, specialised instructors) play an important role in the training.
Paying attention to the special issues regarding the integration of tertiary education, the local ambitions and regionality, the school started its training as the Health Institute of the Tessedik Sámuel College from the academic year of 2000/2001.
